Poovarasankuppam Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple is a famous temple located in Villupuram in Tamil Nadu. This is also known as Dakshina Ahobillam. After killing the demon Hiranyakashipu, the Lord appeared for the first time in the same form and gave darshan to the seven sages as Lakshmi Narasimha, hence the name Dakshina Ahobillam. In this temple, God (Moolavar) appears facing the east with Amritha Valli Thaayar on his lap. A special feature of this temple is the posture of Lakshmi. The idol of goddess Lakshmi is constructed in a way that one eye of the goddess turns towards her Lord and the other eye welcomes the devotees. Also interestingly, Lakshmi and Narasimha are at the same height in this temple. Festivals like Swathi Nakshatram Navrathri Utsavam, Thai Procession, and Narasimha Jeyanthi Utsavam are celebrated in this temple.
