Alamparai Fort Mahabalipuram - Tamilnadu
The 17th century fort, built during the Mughal Era, located at a village near Mahabalipuram is the Alamparai Fort. The ruins of the fort still attracts thousands of visitors round the year, which was once a prominent Sea trade center between India and other countries with a 100 meter long dockyard.

Alamparai Fort was built by Mughal Era, taken over by the French and later on conquered by the British rulers. The present day ruins are after the Tsunami in Indian Ocean during 2004.
The arms and ammunitions used by the French and British troupes are exhibited in the fort. With a mausoleum at the center, the fort is built using bricks and limestone, where one can reach the top of the fort using the steps to have a panoramic view around. Boating is also possible with the help of the local fishermen.
