Chariot festival:
The annual Chariot festival of the Thyagaraja Swamy temple is one of the grand festivals of Tamilnadu. People from every part of Tamilnadu throng at Thyagaraja Swamy temple to witness the Chariot adorned with flowers and garland and carrying the effigies of Sundareswarar. This festival falls during April and May. This chariot is the largest of its kind and carved out impeccably. The minute carvings of this chariot are remarkable. The Theppam float festival takes place after this celebration.
