Itinerary details
Day 01 : Welcome at Chennai
You will be warmly welcomed by Tamilnadu Tourism representatives on arrival at Chennai on day one of your two weeks long Tour package. From the airport / railway station, you will be transferred to your hotel accommodation. Relax for the rest of the day.
Day 02 : Chennai
Proceed for the full day sightseeing of Chennai after breakfast. Visit Fort St. George, Snake Park, Government Museum & Gallery, and Valluvar Kottam, a huge auditorium with a seating capacity for 4000 persons. The auditorium was built in 1976 in the memory of poet saint Thiruvalluvar. After lunch, pay visit to 8th century Kapaleeshwarar temple during Tamil Nadu and Kerala tour. In the evening, stroll leisurely alongside the Marina beach.
Day 03 : Chennai - Kanchipuram
Drive to Kanchipuram after breakfast. Visit Ekambaranathar temple, Venkuntha Perumai temple, Varadaraja temple and Kamakshi Amman temple. The temples reflect the architectural experimentations of Chola, Pallava and Chalukya dynasties.
Day 04 : Mahabalipuram
Proceed to Mahabalipuram from Kanchipuram in the morning after breakfast. Visit Arjuna's Penance, Shore Temple and Krishna Mandapam. Visit the 7th century Varaha caves and Tiger cave after lunch. You can enjoy Mahabalipuram Dance Festival also if you visit the city during the month of January.
Day 05 : Mahabalipuram - Chidambaram
Drive to Chidambaram after breakfast. Visit Nataraja Temple, and Tiruvakkarai, which houses the first fossil wood park of the country. Enjoy trip into the mangroves alongside Pichavaram resort. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight at Chidambaram.
Day 06 : Chidambaram - Tanjore
You will be driven to Tanjore after breakfast. Visit Brihadeeswara temple, Art Gallery, the Wonderful Palace and Saraswati Mahal Library. Have excursions in Thirukandiyur.
Day 07 : Trichy
Pay visits to Rockfort temple and Tiruvanaikkaval temple. Rock Fort temple is the most prominent mark of Trichy. It has a 100 pillars hall and a Vimana covered with gold. The fort on the top of the rock provides a spectacular view of the city during Tamil Nadu to Kerala tour.
Day 08 :Trichy - Madurai
Drive to Madurai. Pay visit to Meenakshi Temple, which is the most prominent landmark of the city. The 48.4 m high temple has more than 1500 sculptures. After lunch, visit Tirumalai Nayak Mahal, Gandhi Museum, Koodal Azhagar temple and Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam tank during Tamil Nadu to Kerala.
Day 09 : Periyar
Periyar Tiger Reserve in Thekkady provides a true picture of wilderness of the region. Other attractions of Periyar tour are Munnar, Kumily, Peermede and Anamudi. Enjoy boat cruise in the romantic Periyar lake in the evening. Relax in your hotel at night.
Day 10 : Kottayam
Enjoy sightseeing of Thirunakkara Mahadeva temple, Thazhathangady Juma Masjid and St. Mary's Orthodox church in Kottayam.
Day 11 : Alleppey
Go for the sightseeing of Kanakakkunnu Palace, Eddakal caves and Krishnapuram Palace on the tenth day of tour. Stroll at Alleppey beach in late evening. Enjoy dinner at hotel and have a sound sleep.
Day 12 : Kovalam
Drive to Kovalam from Allepey. Enjoy sea-side walk on the Lighthouse beach, Hawa beach and Ashoka beach that form the famous crescent of Koavalam beach. Enjoy a leisure stroll on Kovalam beach. Relish the traditional Kerala delicacies at the beach side hotels. Night stay at sea-side hotel.
Day 13 : Thiruvananthapuram(Trivandrum)
Pay visit to the majestic Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple which is spread over an area of 2,400 sq. metre. Also visit Napier Museum, Sri Chitra Art Gallery, Science and Technology Museum and Trivandrum Zoo. Back to your hotel room in night and have dinner.
Day 14 : Trivandrum - Chennai
Enjoy shopping for curios in the local markets of Thiruvananathapuram. After lunch, proceed to Chennai or take flight back to home from Trivandrum airport.M
