Itinerary details
Day 01 : Arrival at Trichy – Kumbakonam (100kms / 2hrs drive)
Arrive at Trichy International Airport/Railway Station early in the morning before 10:00 AM. Upon arrival, you will be received by our tour executive, who will introduce you to your driver.
Straight drive to Thingalur village in in Kumbakonam to visit the Chandiranaar Temple also called Thingalur Kailasanathar Temple. However, the main idol in the temple is Lord Shiva, the presiding deity is Soma (moon). Devotees believe that those who have Chandra Dosha are sure to get relief from their pain and suffering by offering prayers at Chandran Temple, dedicated to Moon God.
Then visit the Apathsagayeswarar Temple or Guru Temple in Aalangudi in the Tiruvarur district of Tamilnadu, dedicated to the planet Jupiter or Brihaspati who is known for his excellence in wisdom, education and fine arts. In the afternoon, visit the Suriyanar Temple dedicated to Sun God. It is the only temple in Tamilnadu that has all 9 shrines of Navagraha. Later, visit the Sukran Temple at Kanjanoor which is dedicated to Lord Sukran or planet Venus. Here, Lord Sukran is believed to resolve problems related to love, marriage, beauty, and comforts and is mostly worshipped by men for the well-being of their wives.
Day 02 : Kumbakonam – Thirunallar – Kumbakonam (90kms / 2hrs drive)
Start the day with a visit to the Tirunageswaram Naganathar Temple also known as Rahu Stalam (represents the North Lunar Node), located in Tirunageswaram, a village in the outskirts of Kumbakonam. The Temple attracts devotees who want to get relieved of Naga Dosha. Here, Lord Rahu is seen with a human face while in other places, Lord Rahu is usually seen with a serpent face.
Further, head-on to Saneeswaran Temple at Thirunallar temple for planet Saturn. Devotees believe that taking a holy dip in Nala Theertham at this temple will wash off all kinds of misfortunes and afflictions caused by their past karmas.
In the afternoon, head-on to visit the Sri Naganathaswamy Temple or Kethu Temple at Kilperumpallam near Thiruvengadu in the Mayiladuthurai district of Tamilnadu. It is dedicated to Ketu Bhagwan (represents the South Lunar Node). Here Ketu is enshrined with the body of an asura and the head of a snake. Later, return to Kumbakonam for a peaceful stay after having a delectable dinner from your preferred restaurant enroute to your hotel.
Day 03 : Kumbakonam – Vaitheeswaran Koil – Trichy (100kms / 02hr drive)
Today morning, drive to in the Mayiladuthurai to visit the Vaitheeswaran Koil (Sevvai Temple) dedicated to the planet Mars or Angaraka. Devotees visit this temple, seeking a cure for illness. Later, in the afternoon visit Swetharanyeswarar Temple at Thiruvenkadu. Believed to be temple for Mercury, worshipping to the Budha Bhagavan at Swetharanyeswarar Temple will bless one with good education and knowledge.
Later in the evening, drive back to Trichy International Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey home, enriched with wonderful memories and divine blessings of Navagrahas.
